Programs

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS:

TECH’s After-School Program is designed to capture the imagination of children who might not otherwise be exposed to the creative wonders of technology. The skills they will learn will enhance their traditional education and help decrease their higher-than-average drop-out rates.

The after-school program will provide computer access and training to children ages 6 to 18. TECH will provide a combination of access and programs, ranging from basic word processing skills to website design and advanced multimedia creation.

TECH’s Summer Camp Program will focus on more in-depth training of children in a variety of areas on the computer. The camps will offer a specific curriculum with a variety of topics. The focus of the summer camp program is encouraging young students to understand and master the technology available in today’s world.

PUBLIC ACCESS:

TECH’s Walk-In service will be available to all local community members. The purpose will be to provide free computer access in a safe, local environment to underprivileged members of the local community, thus better enabling them to compete in today’s increasingly computer-dependent society. This program will be available to children of all ages, as well as adults, to do on-line research, self-paced computer tutorials, homework assignments, etc.

ADULT EDUCATION:

TECH will also offer Adult Education Programs, including job re-training, resume-building, English as a Second Language, etc. The purpose of this program will be to provide local adults an opportunity to develop their job skills, conduct job searches, or learn a new skill or trade. One of TECH’s primary goals is to encourage self-sufficiency in local community members. The adult education program will provide an opportunity for community members to do just that.

ENTERPRISE PROGRAM:

TECH will also create an Enterprise Program for young adults. The focus of this program will be to encourage young adults (ages 15-18) to learn special computer programs and provide paid services to local businesses.

TECH will provide supervised, hands-on experience to students who have mastered a certain level of computer design and creativity skills. Proposed projects include designing web sites, providing graphic animation and otherwise meeting the technology needs of participating businesses.

Many of these students have never been exposed to careers in technology or the arts. By providing structured projects in a supportive environment, we hope to encourage students who are interested in pursuing a career in technology or a related field.
